I will be hosting a concealed weapons class on the above date.
ND class 1 & 2 will be held in one room.
Minnesota class will be held in another room.
ND will start at 1pm
Minnesota will start at 2pm.

After class for Minnesota, you will need to stop in to your local sheriff's department in the county you reside in and issue them cash or check for $100 for your Minnesota background check. We will go over that in class.
ND STATE LAW requires you to have your home state permit before you can get your ND out of state permit.
We will be shooting at the RED RIVER REGIONAL MARKSMANSHIP CENTER on 7th Ave north in West fargo.
Further directions will be given in class if they are needed.
Hearing protection and Safety glasses or prescription glasses are required.
Bring your firearm, with a holster, and minimum of 100 rounds of ammo for your ND & Minnesota Qualification shoot.
Minnesota does NOT require a holster. ND does.
Please go on the ND Attorney General website and fill out the ND concealed weapons permit application. Print and bring this application to class.
If you have not shot at the red River regional marksmanship center in over a year. Please go on their website and fill out their liability waiver online. They only have two computers there you can use to fill it out.

Classroom

Minnesota Permit to Carry/Renewal - Expect to spend at least four hours in the classroom for the Minnesota Permit to Carry.  You will receive a student packet to follow along with the presentation.  We encourage you to ask questions and provide input into the class experience. 

After the classroom session, the law requires that all permit candidates must pass a shooting proficiency test.   You will be evaluated on proficiency and safe handling of the handgun.

What Should I bring to Class?

  • Positive attitude on firearms and safety
  • A handgun that you are competent with (no single action cowboy style)
  • 50 rounds of factory ammunition (no reloads)
  • Extra magazines for your semi-automatic handguns
  • If you do not have access to a handgun for the Minnesota qualifying, we will make available at no cost, the use of a .22 semi-automatic, .38 revolver or a .9mm semi-automatic.  Just bring the required amount of ammunition. 

    Please Note!

    • Do not bring your handgun or ammunition into the classroom - please keep them secured in your vehicle.

    Safety at the range is our highest priority - failure to comply will result in failing the course.

    Advanced Conceal Carry - This class is for students that have already completed the MN or UT Permit to Carry Class.  We will have a four hour classroom session and then will go to the range to shoot live fire.  We will cover the following (subject to revision): 
        
    Levels of Awareness - how to spot danger and
         honing your awareness.
         Use of Force continuum - Deadly force should
         never be your only option.
        
    Drawing your gun - mastering the five-step draw.
         Refresher on inspecting your handgun.
         Methods of concealment
         After action responses including the search
         and scan technique.
         How to use non-lethal alternative and
         improvised weapons.
         Range Activities
              Shooting from behind cover
              Close quarters self defense shooting
              One handed shooting
              Malfunction drills
              Reloading techniques "tactical reloads"
              Shooting while wounded

    All students must bring their concealed carry weapon, holster and two hundred rounds of ammunition. 

NRA Basic Pistol -
This course is for anyone who wants to understand the safety rules and basic function of handguns. Today, handguns are enjoying increased popularity due to the vast majority of states allowing law-abiding competent adults to carry them for personal protection. So as handgun become more present and their use increases, so goes the need for basic training.

This course  provides the handgun novice with the necessary safety, operational and practical handgun training needed to continue on to a permit to carry class or to just enjoy target shooting.

When finished, you will have learned:

  • How to safely load and fire a handgun.
  • You will have fired 100 rounds from a revolver and 100 rounds from a semiautomatic.
  • You will understand the basics of how both a revolver and a semi auto function.
  • You will understand ammunition.
  • You will understand the basic rules of handgun safety.
  • How to clean and care for your handgun.
  • How to safely store your handgun.
  • How to select a handgun.
  • Have a meaningful reference for handgun safety and handling.
  • A little about the history of handguns.
