Minnesota Permit to Carry: $100.00 per person for new permit training and $75.00 for renewal - This course includes student material, one month membership to LegalShield with Gun Supplement, range fee and target. Does not include permit application fee to local Sheriff.
Add the Flordia or Arizona Permit to Carry: $50.00 per person- Does not include fees to AZ or FL.
What happens on the day of class?
We are asking the students place a $25.00 deposit through PayPal as the registration for the class. This deposit is not refundable.
Your class includes a free month membership to Legal Shield. We have been offering Legal Shield to our students for the last three years with great participation. By offering you a free month of membership, you will have an opportunity to get your will done, talk to an Attorney on any matter, have a letter written on your behalf and so much more.
The fee we will be paying is $24.95 for a single person or for a family for your first month. We are truly excited about the GUN SUPPLEMENT that Legal Shield has added, giving you 20 hours of pretrial/40 hours of criminal trial time if you have to use a firearm as a weapon. This additional supplement is only $12.95 (we will cover that too) and will give you greater peace of mind in the event you have to use your firearm to stop a threat, whether the firearm is discharged or not.
We are in great hopes that you will discover what an excellent service it is and keep it. I will forward information on Legal Shield to you before class to help you make the best informed decision.
If you choose to start your membership before class, just let us know and we will reimburse you for the first month's membership in class.
What to bring: Bring a face mask to wear in class. Bring the handgun (MN and FL applicants only) you are going to carry (no single action cowboy style gun - we also rent handguns for $10.00/includes ammo if you do not have a handgun to use), fifty rounds of factory ammo (you can purchase the ammo at Scheels), driver's license, any permit you have and your fee for the class by cash or check. Leave your handgun secured in your car until we go to the range.
We will meet at the Rochester Scheels Customer Service Counter at 10:00 am to register for class.
We will take a lunch break.
At about 1:30 pm, we go to the range (MN or FL permit Applicants only). We should wrap it up no later than 3:00 pm.
Classroom
Minnesota Permit to Carry/Renewal - Expect to spend at least four hours in the classroom for the Minnesota Permit to Carry. You will receive a student packet to follow along with the presentation. We encourage you to ask questions and provide input into the class experience.
After the classroom session, the law requires that all permit candidates must pass a shooting proficiency test. You will be evaluated on proficiency and safe handling of the handgun.

If you do not have access to a handgun for the Minnesota qualifying, we will make available for rent, a .22 semi-automatic, which includes ammunition.

Do not bring your handgun or ammunition into the classroom - please keep them secured in your vehicle.
Safety at the range is our highest priority - failure to comply will result in failing the course.
Advanced Conceal Carry -This class is for students that have already completed the MN or UT Permit to Carry Class. We will have a four hour classroom session and then will go to the range to shoot live fire. We will cover the following (subject to revision): Levels of Awareness - how to spot danger and honing your awareness. Use of Force continuum - Deadly force should never be your only option. Drawing your gun - mastering the five-step draw. Refresher on inspecting your handgun. Methods of concealment After action responses including the search and scan technique. How to use non-lethal alternative and improvised weapons. Range Activities Shooting from behind cover Close quarters self defense shooting One handed shooting Malfunction drills Reloading techniques "tactical reloads" Shooting while wounded
All students must bring their concealed carry weapon, holster and two hundred rounds of ammunition.
