Minnesota Permit to Carry: $100.00 per person for new permit training and $75.00 for renewal - This course includes student material, one month membership to LegalShield with Gun Supplement and target. Does not include permit application fee to local Sheriff. Range fee is extra.

What happens on the day of class?
We are asking the students place a $25.00 deposit through PayPal as the registration for the class. This deposit is not refundable.
Your class includes a free month membership to Legal Shield. We have been offering Legal Shield to our students for the last three years with great participation. By offering you a free month of membership, you will have an opportunity to get your will done, talk to an Attorney on any matter, have a letter written on your behalf and so much more.
The fee we will be paying is $24.95 for a single person or for a family for your first month. We are truly excited about the GUN SUPPLEMENT that Legal Shield has added, giving you 20 hours of pretrial/40 hours of criminal trial time if you have to use a firearm as a weapon. This additional supplement is only $12.95 and will give you greater peace of mind in the event you have to use your firearm to stop a threat, whether the firearm is discharged or not. We are in great hopes that you will discover what an excellent service it is and keep it. I will forward information on Legal Shield to you before class to help you make the best informed decision.
If you choose to start your membership before class, just let us know and we will reimburse you for the first month's membership in class.
What to bring: Bring the handgun you are going to carry (no single action cowboy style gun - we also rent handguns for $15.00/includes ammo if you do not have a handgun to use), fifty rounds of factory ammo (you can purchase the ammo at the range), driver's license and your fee for the class by cash or check. Leave your handgun secured in your car until we go to the range.
We will meet at the The Lake George Municipal Complex (1101 7th St. South, St. Cloud, MN) at 10:00 am to register for class. Class starts right after registration.
We will take a short lunch break -
At about 2:00pm, we go to DelTone Range (an outdoor range) in St. Cloud. We should wrap it up no later than 3:00 pm.

NRA Basic Pistol/First Steps Classroom
This course is for persons who want to understand the safety rules and basic function of handguns in a classroom environment that is comfortable and conducive to learning.
Today, handguns are enjoying increased popularity due to the vast majority of states allowing law-abiding competent adults to carry them for personal protection. We believe in empowering handgun owners through education, self protection and support for the Second Amendment.
Therefore, this course provides the handgun novice with the necessary safety, operational and practical handgun training needed to continue on to a permit to carry class or to just enjoy target shooting. So as handguns become more present and their use increases, so goes the need for basic training.
When finished, you will have learned:
How to safely load and fire a handgun.
You will have fired 100 rounds from a revolver and 100 rounds from a semiautomatic.
You will understand the basics of how both a revolver and a semi auto function.
You will understand ammunition.
You will understand the basic rules of handgun safety.
How to clean and care for your handgun.
How to safely store your handgun.
How to select a handgun.
Have a meaningful reference for handgun safety and handling.

Minnesota Permit to Carry/Renewal Expect to spend at least four hours in the classroom for the Minnesota Permit to Carry. You will receive a student packet to follow along with the presentation. We encourage you to ask questions and provide input into the class experience.
After the classroom session, the law requires that all permit candidates must pass a shooting proficiency test. You will be evaluated on proficiency and safe handling of the handgun.
Utah Permit to Carry If you have taken your Minnesota Permit to Carry with Rusty, you are eligible for a reduced fee. You will receive handouts on the Utah Permit to Carry, Minnesota Permit to Carry and North Dakota Permit to Carry Laws, a resource disk with additional information, and other supporting documents. This four hour+ class will have additional information on the Minnesota Permit to Carry and the North Dakota Permit to Carry. You will have hands-on weapons familiarization in the class room with Rusty's handguns and training ammunition. We will roll your fingerprints, take your passport photo, make a copy of your drivers license and notarize your application in the classroom to assist you in completing the application process.
